Practice Description

Mr. Zall’s (Bill’s) practice encompasses employment, zoning, general business and banking law.

In his employment practice, Bill has assisted businesses of all sizes navigate the many and ever-changing facets of employment law for more than 30 years, bringing a problem-solving approach from industry experience gained prior to entering private practice. He represents clients in defense of claims of discrimination, harassment, wrongful discharge and wage/hour violations, as well as enforcement of non-competition agreements. In addition to our state and federal courts, Bill represents clients in a variety of administrative agencies (e.g. EEOC, MCAD, Dept. of Labor). He is frequently called upon to consult on employee discipline & counseling, review of employment actions, development of personnel policies and management training, as well as to audit employment practices for compliance.

Bill also maintains an active general litigation practice, focusing on zoning, contract and banking disputes. As a trained mediator, he is often called upon to assist parties to reach negotiated resolutions as a cost-effective alternative to litigation. In addition to his engagement by private parties, he provides voluntary mediation services to our courts.

Bill is admitted to the bars of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, the State of New Hampshire, the U.S. District Court for the District of Massachusetts and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the First Circuit.

Outside of his legal practice, he is an active member of the National Ski Patrol and has been heavily involved in both men’s and women’s lacrosse programs, as a coach and official.
